Experience

Ms. Hall has more than 15 years’ experience in employment law and represents public sector employers and non-profit organizations in state and federal courts, arbitration, mediation, and before administrative agencies. She also regularly acts as an outside investigator into allegations of workplace misconduct. In addition to her many years of experience representing employers, Ms. Hall spent the first eight years of her career representing employees in litigation matters. She brings the knowledge she gained as a plaintiff’s lawyer to the advice and representation she provides to her public sector and non-profit clients.

Ms. Hall’s practice focuses on the following:

  • Advising employers regarding their obligations under the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA), Title VII, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA). Ms. Hall has particular expertise in guiding employers through the often complicated process of determining reasonable and effective workplace accommodations for employees with disabilities.
  • Conducing workplace investigations. Ms. Hall has conducted more than 40 investigations, many involving highly sensitive matters and high-ranking officials. She is co-author of Conducting Effective Personnel Investigations: A Manual for Public Sector Managers, Public Law Group Press (3rd ed.)  Ms. Hall is also the leader of the San Francisco Chapter of the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI)
  • Representing employers in litigation, arbitration, mediation and related appellate matters.
  • Advising public entities regarding compliance with Title II of the ADA to ensure accessibility of public facilities, programs, and services for persons with disabilities.
  • Training on workplace investigations, the FMLA, CFRA, FEHA, ADA and prevention of harassment and retaliation.
