Mr. Dickey represents public-entity and public interest clients in litigation involving a wide range of subjects including constitutional, administrative, and election law. Mr. Dickey also advises clients on election and tax matters.
Some of the recent matters on which Mr. Dickey has provided representation include:
- Representing California public entities and non-profit organizations in appellate litigation challenging state regulation and classification of flavored malt beverages, commonly known as "alcopops."
- Representing a class of California cities, counties, and districts in complex litigation against insurance brokers regarding undisclosed commissions and breach of fiduciary duty.
- Representing a national class of senior citizens in litigation against banks and insurers for elder financial abuse.
- Advising a Northern California city on residency requirements for elected officials and proper means of challenging office under the Fair Political Practices Act.
