Attorneys
Associate, Labor & Employment - Sacramento California Office.
Seeking a Labor & Employment Associate for our downtown Sacramento office to work primarily on labor and employment law matters for the firm’s clients, with possible assignments in government law and litigation. The Associate will work closely with and receive direction from a senior attorney in the Sacramento office as well as partners and associates in San Francisco. The Associate is expected to travel as necessary, primarily day travel in Northern CA and to the firm’s San Francisco office
Specific duties include:
- Conducting legal research, drafting of briefs or other legal documents, and providing advice to clients on a wide range of employment and labor issues, including discipline/discharge; federal and state laws relating to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation; due process procedures for both non-safety and safety officer personnel; FLSA overtime and exempt classification standards and employment policies and manuals.
- Participating in the negotiation, mediation and arbitration of labor agreements; advising clients on resolution of grievances; arbitration and complex fact-finding; and advising client on union organizing campaigns.
- Conducting investigations on various employment-related issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have three (3) or more years of experience in employment and/or labor law and practice in public or private sector. Experience in broader government law a plus.
- Active State of California Bar license
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
- Self-starter – must have ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial-style organization.

Litigation
Secretary - May support partners, associates, and/or consultants. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience as a litigation secretary; outstanding Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook skills; excellent organization and attention-to-detail; and ability to work flexibly in a team environment.
Paralegal - Primarily responsible for coding and organizing complex litigation documents for our Elder Financial Abuse and Public Interest Litigation Team. Work directly with senior associates on complex litigation case work. Strong analytical skills; ability to work under minimal direction while working in a team environment; and dedication to the public’s interest preferred.
Desired
Experience and Qualifications:
• 2-3 years experience with complex filing, preferably in a litigation environment
• Computer experience including entire MS Office suite, especially Outlook and Access
• Experience with Caselink, Concordance and other database programs
