AB 220 Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights Act
(FBOR) Training
(November 28th and December 12th, 2007)
Effective January 1, 2008, firefighters will enjoy the rights and protections mandated by the recently passed Firefighters Procedural Bill of Right Act (FBOR). This new legislation, while closely related to the Public Safety Procedural Bill of Rights Act (POBR), contains some significant differences and will inevitably alter the manner in which fire departments approach administrative investigations, discipline and appeals.
The training offered by RSHS makes sense of this new landscape and offers pragmatic tips for managers faced with applying and explaining this untested legislation to their firefighter and firefighters' union representatives. The RSHS trainers will include Scott Kenley, a fire chief with decades of practical experience in fire personnel matters, and Todd Simonson, an attorney with several years of practical experience in the nuances of POBR.
